I have managed to acquire two tin cans and a significant amount of string in order to establish a communications line between this plane and the ground. (C’mon, airlines, can you just get Starlink and enter the 21 century?!?!) I’ll be sitting up in bed late tonight cranking out lots of posts, but for now you folks are on a starvation diet.
As I speculated last night, all it took to vault markets into yet-more-lifetime-highs was a non-hot CPI report. Thus, the Dow Industrials are at lifetime highs:
As are tech stocks:
And the S&P 500:
China is up too, yes, although it seems significantly stalled by resistance and is nowhere near its own records.
Interestingly, precious metals and crude oil have resumed their weakness, with the XLE looking shabby:
And the XOP being an especially clean trade (I shorted it earlier today).
As for the hours left on this flight, thank GOD I’ve got a nice thick book (the new 1929) to keep me occupied and prevent me from going berserk. I’ll see you LATE tonight once I’m back in the land of reliable Internet.
