The move to the new servers a couple of weekends ago went rather well. I’d give it a B+, and we’ve been spending the time since then tidying up here and there.
The only major lingering issue is the fact that folks cannot stack to Socialtrade anymore. We are working on a new solution to that – – perhaps getting away from the notion of a bookmarklet altogether – – and I’ll be sure to make quite a fuss once it’s ready to use again.
Let’s talk about Options Charts, though, which is the newest feature for Slope’s awesome Platinum members. We’ve made some important improvements here as well.

For one thing, for the first time, the data is actually up to date. Until now, it was a month behind, because we were spending an inordinate amount of time building the database in the first place. I’ve been in the financial data business since 1990, and I always wondered why no one had options charts. Now I know why. Because the amount of data required is absolutely insane.
I want to tell my beloved Platinum folks that we are nowhere near done with these charts, however. I have a lot of good ideas to make them better in a variety of little ways. The most serious flaw right now – – and it’s a major one – – is that loading of the data is exceptionally slow. Not sluggish. Not sub-optimal. Outright slow. Please know this isn’t permanent!
Here are a few sample charts I just made. Again, the data is finally updated, which means we can enjoy some of those cool multi-hundred percent post-election pops!

I also wanted to mention a bit of a life lesson I’ve acquired in the wake of creating my Slope Sub-Stack site. I am SO GLAD Slope has a nice base of paying customers. This is a hard business – – vastly harder than you can imagine – – and persuading people to find a crowbar to open up their wallets to pay for content these days is breathtakingly difficult.
Thus, having seen how a “new” business (like my Substack simulates) does in this market, I drop to my knees with gratitude at having a sizable, stable audience, a goodly portion of which actually spends money each month for the service and products offered here.
And, with that, you have my unending thanks!
