Let’s Test, Everyone!

By -

This is important! We have made HUGE progress on the new SocialTrade mobile app, and I need everyone’s help, both Android and iOS alike, in testing it. Except for the fact its sign-on screen is really ugly, it’s pretty much done, so I need you to smoke out any remaining issues.

The app isn’t ready to download yet on the Apple or Google Play platforms, because I want to put it through its final paces first. I would VERY much appreciate your help testing this, however, and I think you’d have fun trying something new.

Step One: you need to download an app called Expo Go on your Android or iOS device. Just search for that name in the App Store or Google Play. If you have downloaded it already, delete it and download it again, just to make sure you’re starting totally clean. If you don’t want to go far, at least tap the Clear link in Expo Go to get rid of the old SocialTrade.

Step Two: Point your mobile device camera at this QR Code, or if you are on a mobile device, long-tap it, and it should prompt you to load it in Expo Go. This should load the new SocialTrade app onto your device.

Step Three: You should see the ‘socialtrade‘ name in your Recently Opened list (or it might just load for you). Tap it to start it up.

If you got this far, hurray! I know it’s a little tricky, but that’s how beta software is. Hopefully you will be at a login screen (not a very pretty one yet, but that’s coming), and you can enter your regular Slope username and password there. At that point, everything should be very easy to understand.

Tap the “Posts” button and you can access all the posts.

And “Charts” gets you to mobile SlopeCharts.

Quotes is functional now with all your watch lists.

Most important of all, and the main reason I did this project, is that we’ve built SlopeTalk into the app, which means you can chat in real time with your friends on the site. This is the one element of the site I would like tested most of all!

I have successfully tested all this on my iPhone and iPad. My Android device is so outdated that it didn’t work, but it should (should!) work for you Android folks. Please drop me a line with any feedback or just leave remarks in the comments section below. We have made DOZENS of improvements, and I’d love to get this into production soon.
