Precious Memories

When I was stuck on the plane-with-virtually-no-Wi-Fi yesterday, instead of absolutely losing my mind, I decided out of desperation to thumb through the over 4,000 photos and videos on my iPhone and mark my favorites. It was quite a journey, since the pictures went back for many, many years. Hundreds of them were, in some form or another, of my dogs resting. Let’s face it. They’re not industrious animals.

Of course, dogs in general easily accounted for a quarter of all the pictures.

Although there were humans as well, such as my (younger) daughter and wife.

Local scenery.

Me being my ebullient and joyful self.

More dogs resting.

One of the Knights fencing.

And, of course, my family demonstrating what animals mean to them.

My favorite clip, I think, was from March 9, 2020, when Stanford shut down and my beloved son returned home. We didn’t know it at the time, nor did we suspect it in a million years, but he would never go back.
