Most of you know I watch sports basically not-at-all. What’s weird is that the EXTREMELY rare occasions I do watch them, something incredible happens. It’s quite strange. The latest was today, when my wife and I went to a sports bar (which feels weird even just to type) and watched the Duke/UConn game. The last ten seconds were………surprising.
I’d like to offer a couple of other observations, since I feel like an alien life form visiting Earth when I actually watch commercial television………
(1) I see that in addition to the intact-happy-black-families thing they do in commercials, there’s a new trope they’re using a lot which is the stupid white guy. For example, there’s a commercial they kept playing from Progressive Insurance which had about seven different actors. The women and the people of color were rational, sensible, and normal. The one and only white guy was a completely repellant dork. I guess there’s no advocacy organization that’s going to get pissed off!
(2) If you want definitive, absolute, and incontrovertible evidence that the tech stock bull market is 100% OVER, I suggest you read about the forthcoming television series from CBS below named Cupertino (yes, I’m serious) which I only learned about during the commercials for the tragic Duke basketball game.
