I guess trade wars are bullish, huh? Just like everything else.
There are a few shorts behaving themselves, though, even in this environment. One of them is Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores, which is getting near an important support level, having fallen today about 5% more:
Not that Cracker Barrel hasn’t been wildly successful for years. They had two great insights:
(a) Americans LOVE to eat;
(b) In particular, Americans LOVE to eat a LOT of high-fat, salty food.
Here, from their own website, is one of their more appealing looking offerings. One can only imagine the caloric content and grams of fat. Let’s just all agree those beans and corn are straight from a can.
I’ve never seen one of these places, since I guess they tend to be in the Southeast, but I know how to read a chart – – and my view is that this security is in for an extreme weight-loss program coming up soon.
