Good morning, everyone,
Barry Ritholtz is the author of the popular Big Picture blog and is a friend of Slope. (He was, at one point, getting heavily Ned-trolled, and he gave me some good pointers on how to nuke the guy; one look at this picture, and you can see Barry isn't the guy of guy who want to mess with!)
Barry did a post last night about how his most recent book got smacked down in what strikes me as an act of corporate censorship. The reason? His forthcoming title was critical of the S&P rating agency, and – surprise! – McGraw Hill is part of the same corporate family. So even though he had contractual rights to the final edit of the book, they squished it.
I imagine sales of the book, when it does come out from a different publisher, will be about ten times bigger than if this interesting little incident hadn't happened. Good luck, Barry!
