The Slope of Hope has a well-deserved reputation for being a kind and helpful community. That’s largely because of the cultural fabric each of us has woven into this place over the past eight+ years. I have been online since 1981, and I have a profoundly acute sense as to what constitutes a good online culture, so I daresay Slope is the last bastion of financial discussion that isn’t laced with vitriol within the components of the group.
From time to time I’ll venture outside these gentle climes and do a post elsewhere, such as ZeroHedge. The culture at ZH is radically dogmatic and instantly seems to destroy anyone who doesn’t agree, for instance, that gold’s destiny is $5,000 per ounce. I imagine the past few days have been briefly humbling.
I offer you below one of the hate mails I got from over at ZH. I have thoughtfully clarified the point in time the email was sent to me on the miners graph (on which I’ve been bearish for approximately forever) so that the Truth – a dear friend of mine – can show itself.
I have yet to decipher how my “business” will become “redundant”, since redundancy implies a whole integer greater than one, but sometimes I forget that – – in spite of feeling mentally disabled considering the magnificent company I keep – – the vast majority of inhabitants of Earth aren’t that bright.
But as our friend above states, a fool and his money are eventually parted.
And that time has come.
My charts and my truth will always eventually come out on top. Sometimes it takes longer than I’d like, and often the road there is rocky and difficult. But what I represent – – reality and an objective eye – – will always come out on top.
And, thus, Bernanke and Yellen are doomed to be reviled when this is all over.
So let us press on with our cause. We are going to win. All of us.
