A rally started yesterday as expected, and stalled at the ES 50 hour MA for much of the day. ES traded through that over that overnight though and has rallied as high as 1851.25 at the time of writing. The obvious target is the daily middle band, currently at 1857.75 on ES and at 1863/4 on SPX. ES 60min chart:

Jobs: The Movie
Today I finally got around to watching the movie Jobs (the one starring Ashton Kutcher)
I confess I had hesitations about watching it at all. For one thing, I am far too close to the subject matter. I have studied Steve Jobs since 1982. Even in the late 1980s, he wasn’t a household name, and my roommate in college pronounced “Jobs” with a long O (as you would say the word “robes”), which drove me right up the tree. Downside Protection For ADM
In a post on Monday (“VXX Sucks”), our host Tim noted the double digit move in the VIX (though not in VXX, which has made longs’ money evaporate since inception) on the day. Tim the Bull
I just thought I’d share the contents of my (tiny) personal trading account, as opposed to the big account I trade for my fund. People will be shocked to see that every position is a bullish one. These are very young positions – many of them just hours old – but they’re all in the green. As you can see, I’m quite fond of miners these days!
