Pilgrim’s Progress

I have been absolutely delighted at the success of ticker.art, which is my five-day-old website that sells original NFTs based on ticker symbols. In its very short history, ticker.art has……

  • Sold 60% of the pieces it has posted so far (I am truly amazed at this);
  • Enjoyed its first resale (which means someone “flipped” an NFT for a personal profit);
  • Had its fastest sale ever yesterday (it was Facebook);
  • Has garnered over 200 followers on its Twitter feed @tickerart

In fact, one fellow who bought AMD appears to be very ambitious about his own ability to make a profit, but you never can tell……….

Something else occurred to me this morning as I was executing my federally-required dog walk: when Ethereum shoots higher in price, the owners of my art are actually making money, in a way. The reason is simple: the NFTs are on the ETH blockchain, and thus denominated in $ETH. Of course, this works both ways, but as I saw crypto explode higher this morning, I felt good about my customers.

I know plenty of you fuddy-duddies don’t want to learn about NFT or crypto wallets, but for cryin’ out loud, I didn’t know anything about this space either, and look at the cool stuff I’m making! If you haven’t already, check it out. Oh, and MANY THANKS to the handful of Slopers (literally three of you) who know a lot about NFTs and have been exceptionally generous with your time, suggestions, and interest.
