I vividly remember how hard it was for my dad to make his mortgage payment back in the early 1980s. I didn’t understand why at the time, but let’s face it – – can you IMAGINE if everyone’s mortgage rate these days suddenly was at 18%?
Now we have the reverse problem. Most folks have super-low interest rates locked in, and there’s no way in hell they want to move. Thus, people wanting to buy a home basically only have the dreadful cookie cutter crap that outfits like DR Horton crank out to choose from.
