I had never heard of the IM Academy or Chris Terry before, but apparently this was a giant (over $1 billion in revenue) scammy, scummy firm which, for the nine-thousandth time in human history, convinced mobs of stupid young people that they could get rich trading if they would only subscribe to his method. The blob below is Chris Terry himself, preaching to the converted.

It seems that entire grift has been shuttered, since even the crime-friendly government we live with today couldn’t take it anymore. Bloomberg just came out with a documentary about this criminal enterprise titled, without putting too fine a point on it, “How a Trading Academy Ruined Thousands of Young People’s Lives.”
The entire operation was headed by this smilin’ husband ‘n’ wife team. Seem like nice folks, right? And what the hell kind of name is Isis, instead an ancient Egyptian goddess?

Evidently the man put together a huge multi-level marketing scheme and rallied his troops with evangelical fervor. He also trotted out bromides like these gems:

I guess he was “open and transparent” about “taking the best from everybody“, so let’s at least give him credit for that. It’s kind of sad, because tiny little Slope, run HONESTLY by me for over twenty years, has a miniscule but dedicated following, whereas scumbags like this guy packed arenas with people hurling cash at him:

What’s especially stomach-churning to me is that the uneducated black and Latino folk that constituted the bulk of his victims think of themselves as “entrepreneurs.” It seems today that “entrepreneur” has become a much nicer way of saying “unemployed.”
You AREN’T entrepreneurs, people. There aren’t many of us, and yes, Tim Knight definitely has entrepreneur bona fides, but you don’t. Got it? Sheesh!
In any case, I’m glad the powers that be shut down this guy’s giant scam. What a relief to know that no one will ever attempt such a thing again, since people have finally wised up.
