Out of dozens of short positions, my second most profitable one is, paradoxically, a stock grinding around at lifetime lows which I shorted after it had already lost virtually all its value: Brandywine Realty Trust (BDN), which is sporting daily price bars that I wish were commonplace but are instead exceptionally rare:

Here is the longer-term chart. The head and shoulders pattern (tinted in mauve) was very appealing to me, and it just goes to prove that you don’t necessarily have to focus on stocks that are at lifetime highs for short candidates. Sometimes the best opportunities are those which have been getting obliterated for years already.
