As much as I’ve been obsessively following the WeWork story, I didn’t even realize until a few minutes ago that I could chart SoftBank (their feckless investor) in SlopeCharts! The symbol is SFTBY , and here’s how the company has been doing lately:
As you might guess, Slope gathers a lot of data from a lot of different sources. One “weak link” that has been really bothering me lately was our earnings calendar data (which you can see, among other places, here). It was quite thin in spots, and – – this is what really irked me – – sometimes even off by a day. I couldn’t tolerate it, so we’ve just finished a project in which our earnings date information is much higher quality, and far more complete. None of this is a new “feature”, but I definitely wanted to mention it.
(more…)Even as the general equity market surges to some of the highest prices in human history (thanks to Powell’s QE4 injection of nearly a trillion dollars annually), the Consumer Staples ETF (symbol XLP) isn’t playing along. I wanted to point out the break in its wedge pattern, which just took place.
For those of you who use Tradier as their broker, I have some interesting news. For those who don’t, this is still relevant, but for different reasons.
We have been taking steps to integrate brokerage information into Slope on a steady basis. We are slowly moving from feature to feature, and broker to broker. My ultimate goal is an end-to-end strategy and trading platform right here on Slope.
(more…)One of my favorite unique features of SlopeCharts is its huge economic database. This has data goes back literally hundreds of years, and it has fascinating information from all around the world. For a history buff like myself, it’s especially fun to explore.
However, what’s always bugged me is that we were using this crazy symbols, and when you got the chart, the symbol would be your only indication of what you were looking at. And, let’s face it, these symbols don’t exactly burst off the screen with information.
