I wanted to do it. I really did. But I was too scared.
I’m referring to Tesla, of course. In fact, for those of you who watch me on TastyTrade, I said during my show yesterday, “Someone out there is going to make a fortune with Tesla puts. It ain’t gonna be me!” Seeing a stock go up 200% in six months is just a little too nerve-wracking.
And yet here we are:
(more…)I did an unusual experiment today that I wanted to share with you. It’s the kind of goofy side project a data weirdo like me does when an idea pops into his head while taking out the trash.
I punched in a couple of dozen big ETFs and created a matrix of them in Excel using the CONCATENATE function.
My largest options position is a bundle of February 21 GDXJ calls, (junior miners ETF) and they’re up about 40% so far. I’m encouraged by recent activity:
As decreed by Federal statute, the market hit lifetime highs again today, for the 327th day in a row. The bull market is flying along in its 11th year, and it will continue to do so until Jerome Powell decides to stop it. What would compel him to do so? Beats me. But the Dow Industrial Average has pushed above its channel:
And this is a log scale. The arithmetic scale would look even more preposterous.
