One of life’s cruel truths is that short sellers tend to be, in the aggregate, much smarter and far poorer than their bullish counterparts. That seems counterintuitive, since people assume a positive correlation between intellect and wealth, but that simply isn’t the case (I direct your attention toward the White House if you disagree).
Although there are dozens of dingbat famous permabulls (Jim Cramer, Cathie Wood, etc.) there’s only one famous short in the world, and he is Jim Chanos. Please enjoy this terrific interview:

For three entire months – May, June, and July – the /ES has been grinding around with absolutely no clear direction, unsure of what’s going on with the war, what’s going on with the economy, and what’s going on with AI. It is a nearly inscrutable mess, but I’ve tried to make the lines below as clean and simple as possible to illustrate what I believe are the important price levels.
