As of this composition, the Slope of Hope has amassed over 4.3 million comments during its long history. I’ve started to experiment with what I can do with this unique mass of data, and my first baby step is this new page which all users can try immediately. It lets you see the top comments, and the top contributors, over a variety of timespans. It also lets you click on any hyperlink or username to learn more. It’s really fun, and it’s going to be constantly updated.

It has been a ROUGH time lately for the one or two surviving bears out there. This is one of those rare instances in which I actually welcome the weekend.
Silent Generation
It may sound remarkable, but I only just got around to watching Band of Brothers, even though it was produced decades ago. I absolutely loved it, since, at my age, being into World War II is practically required by federal statute.
