Slope of Hope Blog Posts
Slope initially began as a blog, so this is where most of the website’s content resides. Here we have tens of thousands of posts dating back over a decade. These are listed in reverse chronological order. Click on any category icon below to see posts tagged with that particular subject, or click on a word in the category cloud on the right side of the screen for more specific choices.

Ignore-Amus
The community on Slope is one of its most valuable features, and the gathering place for that community is the comments system (either the classic one or, for the cognoscenti, SlopeTalk).
There will be instances, however, in which you may find a specific user you’d rather not have in your feed. Maybe they annoy you, or they post way too much, or, who knows, maybe you just don’t like their avatar! For whatever reason, there is a solution to your agony that will take you all of half a second of your entire life.
Just click this button beneath any comment of whomever is getting under your skin.

From that point forward, that user’s posts simply won’t show up. It’ll be like they were never born. Or that they were kidnapped or sold into slavery. Or perhaps they’ve decided to go off the grid and experience the life of a drifter. The point is you can make them vanish with one simple click.
And when you know, you know.
Well, Crap.
StopDay
I always have stop-loss orders for my short positions. This is a great example as to why: I was short Workday (WDAY).
In the midst of the trading day, word got out that WDAY was a takeover target. I got stopped out where the red arrow is, taking a small loss on the position. You can see what happened next. “Mental stops” are a joke. In my opinion, you should use actual stops with your broker.
