Folks like to joke about Walmart, with entire websites devoted to some of the customers there.
In spite of all the guffaws, WMT has had a small measure of success, as their stock chart clearly illustrates.
Just for yuks, I fired up the Slope page Woulda Shoulda Coulda and inquired what would a mere $1,000 be worth now if someone had chucked it into Walmart back in the early 1970s. The answer? $5,679,039. All from a thousand bucks. One. Thousand. Bucks. (I should hasten to add that, during that period, one would have had to endure a nearly 80% drawdown and refuse to sell).
I’ve really got to get that time machine working.
