A New Kind of Search
Today I got my invitation to try out the new SearchGPT, which is OpenAI’s attempt at creating some kind of revenue-generating market for itself. I was prepared to hate it, but in an exhaustive 30 second testing session, it’s actually pretty cool.
The first thing I wanted to try, naturally, is to see if a query which SHOULD bring up Slope would do any such thing. I asked if there were any websites that specialized in short selling stocks.

Yesterday morning, all the permabulls were hugging, kissing, and caressing one another due to the big pop in one of their favorite stocks, AMD. Well, merely a day later, the entirety of the earnings gains have been torched, and we’ve cracked to multi-month lows. Get used to it. There is probably about $10-$15 trillion of shareholder destruction ahead in the next year.

If you asked me whether or not I’d like to watch a one-hour video of a mushroom-munching hippie obsessed with psychedelics and the Mayan calendar, I’d have given you a hard no, but I’d have been wrong. I stumbled upon this fellow whom I’d never heard about but is clearly brilliant. It’s worth listening to it, if for no other reason than he has a marvelously soothing voice.
