Perpetually Pricey

Years ago, I came up with the term “perma-riser”, which is a characterization of equities which, come hell or high water, just seem to march steadfastly higher. I decided to do a bit of an experiment: I wanted to pick out 25 stocks that fit this description and pretend, as of Friday’s closing price, to have bought $250,000 worth of them (that is, $10,000 apiece). I’ve put together this portfolio in a spreadsheet and will revisit it with you from time to time. In the meanwhile, here are the twenty-five stocks, the first five of which are visible to everyone and the other twenty visible to any paying subscribers.
