The Scales of Justice

Let’s talk about my credit score a moment, shall we?

I’m not really here to talk about my oh-so-marvelous 831 score. I’m here to talk about this absolutely idiotic chart.

As you can see, it’s basically flat. And, therefore, useless. It conveys almost NO useful information at all. The reason, of course, is that it is scaled totally wrong. Like……….by complete morons.

And who put this together? Perhaps a second grader who is just starting to learn programming? I mean, give the kid a break, right? He’ll learn!

No, no. It’s from goddamned CHASE, which has over 250,000 employees, apparently NONE of whom know that one does not scale a chart like this. At all. Ever.

And this isn’t some obscure, never-used chart. It is FRONT AND CENTER on their website, which they’ve called Your Credit Journey. Well, that’s real cute, guys. but how about creating something which anyone with an IQ over 20 would agree is useful, well thought out, and sensible? Is that too much to ask?

I’ve got a hunch this entire project was outsourced to a cheap firm in a country I shan’t name but rhymes with “Bendia.” What a piece of user-hostile garbage.
