Latest Batch of SlopeCharts Improvements

By -

I’m very pleased to let you know of a hodgepodge of improvements to SlopeCharts. Please note that all of these improvements are for all Slopers, not just our esteemed Slope PLUS members.

First up is a new icon, located on the extreme right, for Preferences.

At the moment, we’ve only got a couple of things in there, but this is going to be a repository for all kinds of future user preferences, such as color schemes, that do not yet exist. As of now, there are a couple of settings, both of them new features themselves.

Buying the Farm

I wanted to follow up about my Sharing in Action post. In the post, I gave a real-life example of how the Publish/Share feature in SlopeCharts can help one uncover new ideas.  Specifically, a Sloper named DoubleNaughtSPY had a watchlist with some interesting symbols I had never followed, including one i particular that caught my eye, FARM. Thus, I shorted 700 shares of it at the point where the arrow is marked.

Mash and Squash

A SlopeCharts user (and PLUS member) has been emailing me about using the Macintosh with the system, wondering if SlopeCharts is Macintosh-friendly. I assumed it was, but I hadn’t tested it.

Well, I gave it the run-through this evening, and it passed with flying colors. Apple, in its wisdom, has never given its users a right-button for its mouse (which I think is idiocy), so you need to use the Ctrl button instead (e.g. Ctrl+mouse click). But except for that one oddity, everything works just great. I wanted to mention this in particular since I was surprised to see how many Mac users we actually have here on Slope.
