Our Finest Hour
I only put up my most recent post a few minutes ago, so read that……….but I gotta tell ya, after a cursory look at the charts, I am compelled to set all my fear and worrying aside for a moment and tell you that, as brutal as it has been lately, I am really excited at what I am seeing. I think this is one of those periods where puts are dirt-cheap. My view is that, given what I believe is in store over the coming weeks, the bulls have no idea what is about to hit them. This is the kind of broad prognostication that can make me look like an ass later, but that's a risk I willingly take every day! So I personally think this is a fantastic entry point. Look at the watch lists on the right column to see which the securities on which I own puts right now.
Oil and Gold
One of the reasons I think I'm so short with Gary (and I apologize for being so…….) is that I'm worried he might just be right. That is, I'm concerned that the commodities sector (which clearly includes oil) is going to just lumber higher. The "kill the messenger" rule still lives, doesn't it?
The bearish argument is, to my own eyes, still intact, but it's certainly threatened. The strength continues to be nothing shortly of remarkable, and if OIH crosses $195, I'm going to drag my bloodied OIH puts off the battlefield.
Gold doesn't worry me quite as much; I still think the overhead resistance, tinted here, provides a decent barrier. But it's not insurmountable.
I think I'm starting to feel a bit like I did during those dark days like year………..
The Office
A quick reference guide to a part of my palatial office:
(a) One of the two models of the Enterprise 1701-B I built. Yes, it lights up. It's sitting on a stack of Chart Your Way to Profits.
(b) Empty bowl of peanut butter and jelly. I think I'm the only person on the planet that eats it the way my mother taught me – – put in a few spoonfuls of peanut butter, a couple spoonfuls of jelly, mix it up like hell, and eat it straight up.
(c) One of my four monitors – – this is the one that tracks the IWM streaming in real time. It can be the source of great pleasure or pain on any given day.
(d) My newest pup, who for some reason decided he was most comfortable on my desk.
(e) A pirate flag, as an homage to the Macintosh development team back in 1983.
