Labels and Filters
A couple of weeks ago, I dreamed up a new feature I wanted to see in ProphetCharts called labels. It would allow a person to attach labels (or "tags", if you prefer) to any given symbol or set of symbols. It would also let a person include or exclude those items from his/her watch list view based on those labels.
I wanted this because I was winding up with too many watch lists with too many categories, and it was getting to be a jumble. I'm pleased to say (and you're the first ones to learn about this) that this feature is ready on the Toolbox and Prophet.net (it is not on thinkorswim yet, because it will get rolled into a subsequent release). Here are a few screen shots:
It's pretty self-explanatory, but by right-clicking on a symbol, you can apply whatever labels you want, including your own custom labels (you simply type whatever new label you would like). You can even apply labels to the entire contents of a given watch list by right-clicking the watch list name instead.
Then you can alter the symbols you are viewing by including or excluding symbols based on the labels they have. I hope this helps some of you get better organized, since a well-organized trader is usually more efficient and prepared.
