Here is a fascinating infographic: it shows what constitutes (for sane, normal folks) a good life in our once-great republic. Costs sure have gone up! My wedding, which was quite a grand affair, cost all of $14,000. On the other hand, private schools tack on a million dollars for EACH kid. So, yeah, some dreams are more costly than others, although, for my funeral, you can just leave my corpse in the lobby of the Eccles Building, just for the lulz.
Billionaire? Big Deal!
I remember way back in the early 1980s when the first Forbes 400 list was published. I think at the time there were maybe seven billionaires on the planet – – or maybe the U.S. – – but it was a really, really big deal to be a billionaire. It was almost unreal. These days? Thanks to inflation and a massive usurpation of wealth from below to above, there are THOUSANDS of these creatures running around.
