If I were to characterize the nature of my portfolio currently, it would be like the old saying: “Put all your eggs in one basket and watch that basket.” Well, ok, it’s three baskets. Instead of having dozens of positions based on individual equities, I’ve changed to a very small number of ETFs. I wanted to walk through those with updated charts.

First up is my anchor position, the utilities XLU. It’s doing great. The profit on the options is about 53%, and I think its move is just getting started. This is probably my favorite chart in months, if not years.

Great Moments in Idiocy

More evidence that anyone participating in any kind of “sideshow” has an IQ of roughly 40. The trailer trash driving the car wasn’t hurt much at all, but her life is over at this point, since at least one of these people have died and all the others were seriously injured. Of course, she’s probably got twelve cents to her name, so she’s judgement-proof.

Discord in 2024

There’s something very broken about the American spirit today. They say that life imitates art, and judging from the growing popularity of dystopian collapse-of-the-U.S. movies coming out, it truly gives me pause. Some people, I believe, FEAR such things. Other people WANT such things. And others, and I include myself among them, are ANTICIPATING such things. This was already on my mind having viewed Leave The World Behind last week, but when I saw this trailer (below) of a big new movie, Civil War, coming out this Spring, it just brought the message home.
