I did a bit of a cleaner job on a labels overview. This is a really cool feature in ProphetCharts. Here ya go:
Slope of Hope Blog Posts
Slope initially began as a blog, so this is where most of the website’s content resides. Here we have tens of thousands of posts dating back over a decade. These are listed in reverse chronological order. Click on any category icon below to see posts tagged with that particular subject, or click on a word in the category cloud on the right side of the screen for more specific choices.
Poll Chat Once Again
Now that chat has been on the site a couple of days, I'd like to take a fresh poll. From what I can tell, the chat has the advantages of:
- Real time interaction
- Calming down the comments section so it's more manageable
- Allows people to stay on top of news-intensive days
And the disadvantages seem to be…….
- Tim-bashing and Tim-imitating, which are mortal sins
- The presence of certain individuals who have been banned from this site (one of whom in particular I consider to be mentally unstable)
- Nettlesome technical difficulties for some users.
So I'd like to put the poll up again. Do you want chat or not? The last poll yielded 52% yes, 38% no, and 10% no opinion. If we skew much stronger to no, I'm going to take it off.
Free Fall
This is just a sight to behold.
I have so few longs at this point, hardly anything was stopped out today. All the shorts and puts continue to do their thing. My DIG trade obviously sucked.
Run Aground
Well, the market continues to suck wind. A fine example of the kind of catastrophe which has been offered shareholders is former high-flier Dryships (DRYS). A nearly 98% collapse in just one year:
I'll say something that I think needs to be kept in mind: we are in the process of destroying an entire generation of investors. That is, the stock market is ravaging a generation's desire to have anything to do with stocks. That is precisely the kind of thing that makes markets meander aimlessly for years (or decades) to come. The wounds being inflicted today won't soon be forgotten.
If the S&P Can Hold Its Candle……..
The Detroit Bailout rally lasted, as most rallies to these days, a few minutes, and things are kind of in the middle again. If, however, we can manage to bang out a hammer today on the S&P, I'd say the chances of a strong rally tomorrow are pretty good (see prior pattern).
