Take a look at these two integrated charts of $SPX and $RUT; as you can see, the Russell 2000 (the index which is increasingly higher in value than the S&P 500) has dramatically broken away from its multi-year trend of pacing the other index. I think this gap will be closed in the coming weeks/months.
