I’ve got something really special for you today. It’s me. Specifically, me from over 40 years ago. By a curious set of circumstances, I laid my hand on a news program from Los Angeles (KABC-TV) from 1983 which featured your hero. I’ve chopped off most of the surrounding material (and very deliberately chopped out a portion in which the interviewer asks me if I’m a genius………) but this is quite the blast from the past:
A few observations about teenaged Tim:
- He was a lot skinnier;
- He was REALLY serious;
- He said “Ummm” a lot (sorry, everyone);
- Otherwise, his voice is almost exactly the same, although I can detect a few very faint remnants of my Louisiana accent
I wasn’t a bad kid. Just kind of full of myself.
