Here’s a map showing how big the economy of each of the 50 states is compared to a similarly equipped country. California, for instance, has about the same GDP as India (and with vastly cleaner air and water). As a Californian, it’s kind of amusing to me that by far the most populated and rich state out of all 50 is rendered meaningless in this election, whereas some punk-ass little burghs in a few flyover states control who wins the White House.
