As the owner of an all-electric car for many years, I’ve always been puzzled at the business model for these “charge your car with us” startups. My suspicions and puzzlement are being borne out in the public markets, as these once red-hot companies are seriously falling out of favor and heading toward massive right triangle topping patterns.(more…)

Lord knows after doing Slope for 17 years, I’ve built up enough goodwill to ask for a favor now and then, so this is one of those times. Here’s what I ask:
Every time I pass the Beyond Meat section in Whole Foods – – and remember, this is the liberal, tree-hugging, ganja-smoking, vegan Bay Area!! – – all I hear are crickets and, oddly, tumbleweeds blow by. No one buys this crap. This is starting to be reflected in the price, which I think is heading vastly lower, as I’ve been saying for months.
