The government produced their latest inflation data (which is basically the true rate divided by eight), and we’re supposedly sailing along at 3.2%.
Here’s what 95% of folks are too dim to really grasp: THE INCREASES ARE PERMANENT. If inflation got to 0%, people would celebrate it as if it were some sort of victory. If citizens had any sense, which few do, they would realize that what counts is that their purchasing power has been blasted into soiled-toilet-paper level, and this chart isn’t ever going to heal. (The chart being, incidentally, the cost-of-living index, inverted, for longer than any of us have been alive).
