Some Apple Perspective

The big event after the close today, and the “wrap” on the earnings season, is going to be Apple. Looking at the raw price chart, it doesn’t exactly have a lot to say for itself.

Looking at some of the different views that Slope can offer can be intriguing. The time perspective, for example, illustrates that the stock tends to drop just after earnings, in spite of the fact it rarely disappoints.

The seismograph chart shows that the exciting days of Apple, in which big surprises were able to take place (in the middle of the timeline) are long gone. These days, it’s about as exciting as a passbook savings account.

In turn, the reactions graph shows the moves have become increasingly tepid, as AAPL lumbered into multi-trillion dollar market cap territory.

I have no position in AAPL but will be watching, with everyone else, with great interest.
