What a total dope I am. Two days ago, on the 4th of June, I did a post commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Last night, I wrote a pretty long post pissing and moaning about how Google devoted their home page to LGBTQ+ rights instead of this event. Yet this morning, while walking the dogs, prompted by nothing, my brain came alive and said, “Hey, STUPID, D-day is the 6th of June, not the 4th!” Embarrassing!
So I went ahead and threw my unpublished snarky post away (although I notice that Google has nothing at all on their home page now – – just the standard search box – – which seems kind of strange). Anyway, here’s the longer scene from Private Ryan, which is of course amazing:
