The jobs report came out, and although another 36,000 fellow Americans have been added to the millions out of work, the /ES embraced this as lovely news and shot up to an eight point gain. The loss was on the lower side of estimates. Meanwhile, the Euro is getting walloped. It really is too bad that the Euro's correlative magic has been long shed. It was supposed to have helped matters.
On a different note, I got up terribly early this morning (as I've been anxiously doing lately) and finished up Last Words by George Carlin. It's every bit as good as I had hoped, and my admiration for George is greater than ever. You will be amazed at the Zelig-like experiences he had over the decades. He seemed to come into contact with everyone interesting and important; and he's a true philosopher. It's such a shame that he's gone, but at least we've still got his words. Rest in peace, George!
