Ceilings and Floors

With all the griping and bellyaching I do, allow me to just be positive and upbeat for a moment: I think it is so cool we can live in a day and age where I can actually make a living, and provide a valuable service, on a $35 laptop while flying seven miles above the United States. This is just too spiffy. I’m merrily charting away and working on this post, all while airborne. Hurray for living in the modern age!

A few months ago, I would repeat the mantra over and over that “2820 matters”. I was just dying for us to break through that level. When it finally happened, what used to be the floor became a ceiling (see yellow tint below). On three separate occasions, prices tried to get “back on top”, the last of which was the ridiculous Trade Truce G20 nonsense. Thus, support had become resistance, and what a formidable resistance it was.

Sweet Baby Jesus

Greetings from Durham, North Carolina, where my beloved son and I just toured around Duke University – – just for the hell of it. He isn’t going to be going there, but it’s a lovely school, and since we were in the neighborhood, we absolutely wanted to stroll around. I am coming to you from a Venezuelan restaurant, as I felt terribly guilty about the recent paucity of my posts.

I enjoyed an absolutely fascinating drive through rural North Carolina, making our way from Charlotte to our airport destination of Raleigh. Driving along the freeway is quite sterile – – just countless millions of trees. No homes. No businesses. Just wilderness.

Preface to all parts: As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, the (perhaps) magical level of 2600 on the S&P is what I’m awaiting before getting really serious shorting again. I have carefully selected a large cache of stocks to short at the right price (the entries will certainly vary; not all at once). I have broken this large list into four parts, two I’m sharing with everyone and two strictly for Premium Members. Here is this portion:
