Surprise level: ZERO. Americans are simply not going to pay $80 per month to ride a stationary bicycle in their homes forever. They want cheeseburgers. Not avoidable labor. Even with this ridiculous Santa Claus Rally, PTON keeps slipping lower, and I suspect it’ll keep grinding toward the single digits next year.
Six days of this childishly-named Santa Claus Rally have accomplished the remarkable achievement of almost perfectly sealing the Thanksgiving price gap on the small caps. Whether or not it gets perfectly sealed (or, indeed, violated) remains to be seen. As I’m typing this, however, the small caps certainly seem to be catching their breath, at a minimum. The precise value of the price gap is 227.85, less than a percentage point from today’s peak.
In spite of yet another strong overnight session for just about every asset on the planet, the odd man out with the world of crypto. Here’s the Bitcoin /BTC futures in recent hours………..
Although I had an absolute ball with the ticker.art project (and I’m very proud of the work we created), I’ve got to say, I think the NFT crazy probably peaked in 2021. Still, this overview is a fun way to see what’s out there and to acquaint yourself with what folks are spending countless millions of dollars to acquire:

I have written over 30,000 posts during the long history of Slope, and at the end of each year, I gather up what I consider the best of the prior year’s offerings.
