SBF Interview

Below is the entire interview with SBF yesterday that had caused so much commotion. I’ve got a few thoughts of my own below the archived video.

  • If he’s lying, he’s awfully good at it, because I actually think he comes off as relatively sincere.
  • Having said that, it is odd to me that the vast majority of his answers start with “So…….” I mean, if you came up to me and asked, “Tim, have you ever robbed anyone of their money?” I would say “No.” and that would be the end of it. If my response is “So, I guess the question is what you mean by robbed, exactly, and what you consider money………...” then I’m probably not be completely straight with you.
  • If you put together a drinking game based on this video, I urge you not to issue rules stating participants take a shot whenever SBF apologizes, whenever he says he wasn’t aware of something, or whenever he says he wishes he could go back in time and do something differently. The game’s participants will die of alcohol poisoning, and this world has an ample share of sorrow and grief already.
  • To me the most remarkable thing about the SBF interview was the guy who invested his life savings of $2 million into FTX and lost it all and wanted an explanation. Who on EARTH would be their entire life savings into a crypto brokerage?!?!
  • The other thing I find odd about all the SBF interviews is why he’s affecting a Canadian accent. Take it from someone in Palo Alto, our voices don’t sound like you’re from the Yukon.
