Long-time readers are aware of my deep fondness for animals. At the moment, I’ve got two dogs, five grown hens, four baby chicks, two lizards, two salamanders, and a pond full of fish (to say nothing of the humans running around here).
On Wednesday morning, friend-of-Slope Serge sent me the video below. Don’t be scared by the first few moments of sad dog faces; there’s nothing unsettling in it. The video shows how an organization is freeing dogs (in this case, Beagles) from laboratories and giving them the life they deserve. I found it very touching, and I am sending them money to help. It takes a lot of courage to double down on the same stuff that created the financial crisis to begin with. Putting out fire with gasoline… yes, that takes courage. (more…)

Honestly, I don’t care whether the market is bullish or bearish, but the narrow range we have been trading in since March definitely makes you earn your keep as a trader. (more…)
It’s amazing how quickly “fad” stocks can get trashed. Look no farther than Advanced Cannabis, which was riding the coattails of the legalized pot craze. What a downer, man!
